about the author
For the most part, I am just your slightly unaverage 32 year old woman who is trying to find herself, make a name for herself, win some bread, raise a furry little pup in a troubled world, and fall in love with either a man, an old building, an entire city, or heck – maybe even just a new pair of everyday black boots. i’m not a writer. I’m a designer by day and a dreamer all of the time. My english teacher mother and journalist father cringe at my grammar, run-ons, and improperly used punctuation marks. But I do have some emotion provoking reflections; I write either to change the world I live in, or because someone or something has changed it for me. I have finally learned to chose a more controlled and calculated method of getting my words out. And so I invented the blogging machine.
This blog has absolutely nothing to do with anything – I write about what I want to when I want to. And I prefer to keep it that way. Probably because nothing should keep a Rachel in the corner or in a box or anything like that. So far I’ve given you buildings, a special little boy, and girly emotions and fitness topics to ponder upon. Enjoy.
p.s. I am definitely interested in a book / movie deal. just putting it out there.

testing 1, 2…
good job rach. now go to bed.
Rachel, I am completely with you about the Ramada Inn/Sahara issue. I am working on creating a group to oppose the potential new parking lot. I think my email will be sent to you through this note, if not contact me through Downtown Voices Coalition website http://www.downtownvoices.org or my film programming company, http://www.nofestivalrequired.com . Both have my email link. And an aside, I rode the trainat the Highway House and it was great and have more stories to tell about this. We should meet and chat.
Best,
Steve
Rachel,
Am attempting to contact you for a brief phone interview for my newspaper column next week. Would also like to use one of your Sahara pix for same. Will you please call me? I’m filing tomorrow.
Thanks,
Robrt Pela

Good day, Rachel. I am an urban planner/economic developer going back to school through the ASU MRED program this coming fall. I stumbled upon your blog somehow and very much identified with it as someone who has a particular interest in preservation, adaptive re-use, and a fondness for art-deco and mid-century modern architecture. I’m hoping to get more involved in making a positive change in the community once I arrive (and hopefully stay once my program is done!). I’d love to chat with you sometime once I arrive in July. Shoot me an e-mail if you would be interested.
Thanks,
Ryan
